Dear Friends, I have been asked to write a few words of guidance for the fellowship in New Mexico/El Paso during this disorienting and frightening time. Although I have some training in infection prevention, I am certainly no expert in the field. I cannot give better guidance than that which has come from the World Service Office. I am attaching that document, which is updated regularly, to this email. I would like to add that the Fourth Tradition states that each group should be autonomous, except in matters affecting another group or Al-Anon or AA as a whole. Therefore, each group must decide for itself whether to continue meeting as usual, suspend face-to-face meetings for a time, or switch to electronic means. Many groups cannot continue to meet because their venues have been closed. Perhaps this is a good time for people like me, who are not very familiar with technology, to try out a telephone or electronic meeting. The links can be found on our national web page, al-anon.org. A good friend frequently reminds me that, "This too shall pass." And we do indeed trust in the "one authority, a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience" Your Delegate, Clara
